My husband and I love FOX News, so I searched this well know website and found a story that might be getting the back burner of alerts, but is still very important news. Mallory Factor is livid concerning the treatment of detainees in the American run military base in Baghdad. What is he livid about? The fact that he found the facilities were as comfortable as grandma's house. Rooms contain soft couches and artificial flowers and detainees are entitled to entertainment, education, and the best medical and dental care. This seems to contradict reports of mistreatment of detainees by other sources. The truth he says, "is the fact that the men and women of our military detention unit in Baghdad treat Iraqi detainees with the highest standards of professionalism and human decency." This authors gripe, is that our current American leaders are interfering with military matters and he is worried that our country is not being protected fully by such gentle treatment of detainees.

I agree with Mr. Factor's distain for politicians infringing into military matters where politics are being played. I have the utmost respect for those who are risking their lives to protect those of us who cannot protect ourselves. For politicians to say that these brave military service individuals are mistreating the enemy in any way is infuriating. Especially when the politicians are sitting back here in their comfortable cushy positions .

It angers me to think that detainees in Iraq are receiving better medical and dental care than most of the world as Mr. Factor explains, and certainly better he says, than the uninsured in this country. It's apalling for any politician to imply that the military is mistreating detainees when congress already shortcuts the military in equipment needed to win a war, and limits the care our own veterans receive in less than desirable run down facilities!

Again, agreeing with Mr. Factor, this war would be a lot easier to win if the military could do their job without interference from politicians looking for favor in the polls. The war is best won by those strategizing and fighting the war, than by those sitting back in Washington.
